Carnation Company - Now NestleDirector of Human Resources
Jan. 1981 - Nov. 1984Part of the design team for a high end, stunning and elite chain of health, nutrition and weight loss centers. We build 6 prototypes within 9 months and opened 50 stores within 2 years. I wore many hats and ended up in HR, recruiting, designing the training modules and developing a wonderful field team of HR and Operations professionals. When Nestle bought Carnation, they closed the centers. I had colleagues offering me consulting and training projects so I took a deep breath and pursued my goal and started Profitivity Inc.

Jun. 1979 - Dec. 1981GNC was privately owned and had over 700 company owned stores. I started as Regional HR and Operations was added. I ran 110 stores in 6 states. I started with 10 District Managers reporting to me that were very underdeveloped. I created training on Management skills, Hiring, Recruiting, Customer Service, Motivation, Termination and the legal requirements, Time Management and Prioritizing and we ROCKED with our results! The company sent me to Corporate Headquarters in Pittsburgh (Brrrr!) to train and develop all of the District Managers and Regionals. From there I was recruited for Carnation to start up a company back home.
