Virtually all of IBM’s products were designed and developed to handle information – recording processing, communicating, storing and retrieving it. Today IBM has over ninety billion dollars of revenue each year, and produces some of the most highly advanced equipment in the world. My responsibility was the configuration, management and maintenance of the network infrastructure and to ensure that security is maintained. I actively supported LANs, WANS and SANs, and keep the network performing well by constant monitoring and analysis, tuning, and troubleshooting any problems. ✔ Led deployment in support of WAN optimization services for six different countries. ✔ Installed, configured, and managed Cisco ASA firewalls, security policies, VPNs, switches, spanning tree, HSRP, VRF and MPLS. ✔ Worked on project to roll out MPLS for Bharti Airtel Africa. ✔ Supported Bharti IT infrastructure and security. ✔ Audited the LAN of AirTel Chad to identify the root cause for frequent outages, resulting in a loss of revenue, and recommended major infrastructure changes which resolved the issues. ✔ Migrated the data center for Airtel Gabon. ✔ Restructured LAN for Airtel Malawi improving efficiency, high availability and security to company and customer data.
