With 17+ years of experience in design, she has designed products for well-known organizations, including AbbVie, Citrix, Department of Veterans Affairs, Kandji, Office Depot, UserTesting, and many more. Maya actively seeks opportunities to advise startups, contribute to design projects, and mentor designers. As a principal level individual design contributor, Maya is described as a "powerhouse designer" who energizes cross-functional agile teams and advises organizations on shaping effective product design strategies at all stages of the product life cycle. She channels her passion for data visualization and problem-solving into emerging technologies like AI, IoT, ML, NLP, and VR. Drawing on her extensive experience, Maya has worked across diverse industries such as compliance, cybersecurity, defense, finance, government, healthcare, insurance, and information technology. Located in Miami, Florida, she brings over 10 years of experience in onsite and hybrid work environments, complemented by an additional 7+ years devoted to remote work. Maya's artistic talents manifested in her early years, and during high school, she honed her skills as a classical oil painter at a private art studio. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she focused on graphic design and web design. In graduate school, she expanded her expertise, delving into front-end development, mobile app design, and product management. Outside of her professional commitments, Maya dedicates her free time to writing articles on product design, attending design and technology conferences, and building connections within the design community.
