Scaffold writing instruction, through reading, analysis of genres, and by pre-, during-, and post-writing stages. Include scaffolding of language and content for ESL students. Students plan, monitor, and evaluate for greater autonomy as a process from brainstorming to peer revision. Tutor strategic writing to meet the needs of both ESL and non-ESL students in the University Writing Commons (UWC). Design and lead interdisciplinary workshops for students on the writing process to meet academic expectations, including prompts, sources, and revision. Lead professional development workshops for graduate assistants. Mentor peers through lesson planning and two-way classroom observations to solicit feedback.
