Jun. 2016 - May. 2018Jalingo, Taraba, NigeriaI provided professional technical assistance and support for program planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Polio Eradication and Strengthening Primary Health Care Project, Taraba State (UNICEF Hard to Reach – MNCH project) including commodity forecasting, distribution, periodic stocktaking, and reporting. Trained mobile health team members (70 Staff – Nurse Midwives, Community Health Extension Workers, Junior Community Health Extension Workers, and Data Assistants (Recorders)) to provide MNCH services to women and children in the over 700 hard-to-reach areas in the 12 implementing LGAs. Organized review meetings with the stakeholders at the state and LGA levels with participants like ES PHCDA and development partners. Developed REW micro plans for teams in the supported LGAs and supervised adherence during implementation. Trained team members on documentation, and use of reporting templates and supported the routine data entry on DHIS 2, and monitored performance to guide program implementation. Initiated community dialogues with leaders to ensure good utilization of vaccines and other MNCH services, tracking of defaulters through card sorting by supervised activities of the Volunteer Community Mobilizer network along with the Communication for Development (UNICEF C4D) as a way of resolving noncompliance. Performed commodity logistic security management. Prepared salary proposals and retirements for HTR activities with the State Primary Health Care Development Agency UNICEF focal person. Collaborated with Kaduna, Zamfara, Jigawa, and Niger state teams for knowledge sharing, best practices, and training of teams. Recipient of An Award of Excellence from Taraba State Primary Health Care Development Agency, in recognition of my Selfless Service to Women and Children of Taraba State, 28th November 2017.
