Aug. 2012 - Aug. 2014Boston, MAYouth Design is a unique summer mentorship program that introduces inner-city high school students to careers in the design profession by providing high quality, paying design jobs in Boston area design firms, agencies, and in-house design departments. The program was founded by Denise Korn and is run in partnership with the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Boston chapter, and Boston’s Private Industry Council (PIC) that organizes the private sector component of Mayor Menino’s Summer Jobs Campaign. -Compose letters of intent, concept notes, proposals, reports, and other correspondence for submission to foundation, corporate, and government funders. Tracking all grant activity on Excel and for report to Board of Trustees.
-Draft and edit online and offline donor focused correspondence. Research private, corporate, and government funding opportunities
-Work with accountant and Executive Director to collect budget information to cultivate an assessment narrative for annual Board Meeting.
-Maintain a portfolio of program and promotional materials that are used as attachments to proposals and grants. Maintain internal deadline calendar for grant proposals and reporting. -Acknowledge and track grants and help manage grant contracts.
-Hiring, training, coordination, and supervision of volunteer staff, solicitation and scheduling of design workshop projects, development and implementation of staff.
