Dorset CouncilProject Manager
Jan. 2018 - Dec. 20192 contract renewals/12 Months • Orchestrated two critical data and application migration projects for a large change programme merging six local authorities within a very tight timescale. • My remit for the first data migration project involved rescuing a project whose timeline was slipping. There was no clear plan in place to manage the analysis, requirement development, data migration implementation and testing for over 150 applications. • Within the space of a few weeks, the project had been turned around and refocused on priority applications to provide a safe and legal service for day one, which I delivered on time. All data migration activities had been validated, requirements confirmed, governance managed, and delivery/testing successfully managed. These actions ensured that the project successfully delivered a safe and legal service for the launch of the new unitary authority. • My remit for the second project involved initiating, planning and implementing the migration and decommissioning of over 60 applications from one data centre to another within a fixed timescale. • This project was successfully implemented within the fixed timescale, while also coming in under budget. I delivered this project while the organisation was dealing with the impacts of going through substantial organisational change, domain migrations and a device refresh.

The Open UniversityProject Manager
Jan. 2018 - Dec. 20181 contract renewal/8 Months • I successfully led two business change projects within a larger £100 million transformation programme. • The first project led the implementation of a curriculum review tasked with making annual savings of approximately £12 million per year. The scope of this project involved developing and implementing communication plans, system changes, union and staff communications and message, as well as university and programme governance. • The project was successfully delivered on target to cut the organisation operating deficit by approximately 50% from this single project alone. Proactive messaging and engagement with over 20,000 students and 200 staff were implemented successfully, with only three complaints received. The communications and process changes made in the organisation to deliver this project are as an example of streamlining processes, collaborative working and system changes that were more widely embedded. • The second project was leading the development and implementation of a career development and management framework, alongside a range of software tools and policies to support workload, staff and financial planning.
