TripleTenData Scientist Apprentice
Jul. 2024Chattanooga, Tennessee, United StatesAs a student in TripleTen's Data Science Bootcamp, I’ve been immersed in real-world, project-based learning designed to develop core skills in Python, SQL, machine learning, data visualization, and statistical modeling. Drawing from my background in operations, behavioral health, and business management, I bring a unique lens to problem-solving—combining human insight with data-driven strategy. Throughout the program, I’ve tackled end-to-end data projects using tools like pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, and Matplotlib to explore, clean, and model datasets across diverse domains. I've built and evaluated machine learning models, including classification and regression systems, using both technical accuracy and interpretability to guide decision-making. One of my key projects involved developing a Random Forest classifier with a 97% training accuracy and 80% validation accuracy—an exercise that deepened my understanding of overfitting, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques. In addition to coding, I’ve practiced communicating insights through well-documented Jupyter Notebooks, dashboards, and storytelling—translating technical results into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences. My experience managing a counseling practice and leading operations in shipping and receiving directly informs my approach: I understand how to work cross-functionally, lead improvements, and drive decisions with measurable outcomes. I’m passionate about leveraging data to solve real-world problems, optimize systems, and uncover insights that support better business and human outcomes. This bootcamp has equipped me with a strong foundation and a deep hunger to keep learning, growing, and contributing in a data-driven role.
