Metro AreaApply strong and confident technical, management, leadership, and interpersonal skills to plan, coordinate, and execute all public relations initiatives for a U.S. Presidential Memorial honoring President Wilson, rated as the tenth-best think tank in the world in 2020 (“The Center”). Effectively use a wide range of tools and strategies to amplify event content, broaden the Center’s audience, and build strong media outreach skills for Center staff. Proactively engage, network, and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with a broad range of local, national, and international print, video, audio, and online media. Manage, supervise, and direct two to four undergraduate interns every fall and spring semester. Seek new partnerships/ways to engage media and maintain current partnerships with media organizations. Ensure Center branding is prominently featured in all media coverage. Daily update press section of Center website. Maintain constant awareness of Center messaging/goals. Conduct proactive media pitching on breaking and trending news, major Center publications and initiatives, and flagship Center products and events. Identify opportunities for Center staff to interact with media. Partner with Center staff to create bespoke media lists. Supervise all media interactions with Center staff. Plan, produce and execute quarterly media events. Hold quarterly workshops for Center staff in areas of expertise. Create and distribute how to/best practices written guides for Center staff in areas of expertise. Develop media engagement strategies and specific pitches to the media for Center content and experts. Update and identify breaking stories and work with Center scholars and experts to provide rapid response analysis. Monitor Center appearances in the media and provide regular updates on the Center’s media profile and reports on major events, products, or topics with the overall goal of increasing the Center’s public profile.
