Methodist HealthcareManager - Interoperability / HIE
Jun. 2016 - Nov. 2022Memphis, TennesseeI have a passion for creating innovative and disruptive solutions for healthcare systems. Interoperability and HIE (Healthcare Information Exchange) are pioneering areas in healthcare today and I'm excited to lead that direction within our Physician and Patient Innovation Group at Methodist Lebonheur.
Manager - Health Information Exchange (HIE) Technologies
HCAManager - Health Information Exchange (HIE) Technologies
Jul. 2012 - Apr. 2016NashvilleHIE is Health Information Exchange. In general this means making patient health care data securely available between trusted healthcare systems and providers (such as hospitals, diagnostic facilities, and physician offices). This allows health care providers to deliver improved patient care by accessing as much relevant patient data as possible when caring for a patient. What's often missed are the other values HIE brings. Consider HIE for decision support, clinical event notification, clinical and operational analytics, care collaboration, transitions of care and of course the holy grail - a intelligent, learning health care system. Working in collaboration with the Clinical Business Owners, I drove 3 multi-million dollar projects that encompassed over 75 people in cross functional teams to build out the HCA HIE vision, implementing and extending HIE Vendor Solutions; and inventing internal HIE service solutions to fill the gaps necessary to make the vision complete. I hired, mentored and cultivated a team of Data, Application, Business and Support Analysts to drive these activities to conclusion.

Vice President
The Cadcrete CompanyVice President
Dec. 1986 - Mar. 1996As Partner and Vice President, I was responsible for both Business and Technology decisions. My Primary Role was Product Vision; Technology Selection; Software and Services Development; System Deployment and Service. The Cadcrete Company created the first Windows/Mouse based Concrete Dispatching System for the Ready Mix industry in 1987, introducing windows and a mouse to the industry 3 years before the first production version of Microsoft Windows was available. The company would expand to deliver to various locations in North America, an industry specific ERP system for mid-range ready mix producers. This delivered a real-time decision support for the management of fleet sizes from 10 to 150 vehicles. At that time in the IT industry, (1986-1996) this stretched the abilities of available computing, networking, and mobile wireless data transmission technology, including system integration between non-homogeneous systems to achieve a "near real time" solution. The ERP and decision support solution was estimated to reduce delivery costs by approximately 10% and also reduced operational costs for sales, billing, and collections due to the improvements of an integrated platform.
