Time Inc.Editor in Chief, People en Español
Jan. 2003 - Dec. 2006Greater New York City AreaDuring my successful tenure as Editor in Chief of the nation’s largest and most important magazine for Hispanics, People en Español enjoyed unprecedented growth, year-over-year rate base increases, record advertising sales and numerous awards for editorial excellence. I also led the magazine to healthy profitability for the first time. During the years I was at the helm, the magazine landed on AdWeek’s “10 Under 50” list four years in a row, a first for a Hispanic title. The publication won several coveted FOLIO: Gold Awards including “Best Entertainment Magazine” and “Cover of the Year.” Additionally, I was the founding Editor in Chief of the title’s heavily trafficked website, PeopleEnEspanol.com. I created, developed and rolled out “event” (tent-pole) issues—tied to advertising friendly, massive events—50 Most Beautiful, Star of the Year, 25 Sexiest Bachelors, People en Español 100, Best & Worst Dressed, Hispanic Hollywood and more.
