Jul. 2021 - Jun. 2024San Francisco Bay AreaAs the Tech Lead at TopTal, I had the opportunity to work on an enterprise ticketing platform built with a range of technologies, including Python, Django, React, Typescript, Javascript, PostgreSQL, and AWS. One of my primary responsibilities was leading the migration and modernization of the system's infrastructure, which required close collaboration with various stakeholders both within and outside the company. AmazonSoftware Development Engineer
Mar. 2020 - Sep. 2021São Paulo, BrazilAt Amazon, I was fortunate enough to work on a number of global scale projects as part of the International Technology team, also known as InTech. Our team is responsible for internationalizing the company's operational systems, and I had the opportunity to work on the warehousing systems to ensure smooth and efficient operations across the globe. Working on these projects presented a number of interesting challenges, both culturally and technologically. I was able to utilize a range of state-of-the-art technologies including Typescript, React, Kotlin, Java, and Node.js, all built on top of AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDb, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, and QLDB. It was an incredible experience being able to work on such impactful projects and I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned and grown so much during my time at Amazon.
Senior Lead Software Engineer
AccentureSenior Lead Software Engineer
Aug. 2019 - Mar. 2020Belo Horizonte Area, BrazilDuring my time at Accenture, I was fortunate enough to work with three global scale clients on exciting and challenging projects. One of my standout experiences was developing a predictive maintenance algorithm for a leading automobile manufacturer. Our goal was to predict when a specific machine was likely to fail and identify the root cause of the failure. Using machine learning, we were able to achieve an impressive model accuracy of 99.5% based on the area under the ROC curve. In addition to this project, I also helped develop a Smart Energy platform for one of the world's largest metals and mining companies. Written in Django and React, this application was designed to streamline the process of managing and purchasing energy credits and is expected to result in a 30% yearly savings on energy bills. Lastly, I served as the technical leader of a team responsible for the integration layer between our client's manufacturing execution systems and their ERP platform. We used REST and SOAP interfaces to facilitate communication between various global facilities. This project's highlight was the ability to interface with several stakeholders across the client, a world leader in mining and manufacturing. Overall, my time at Accenture was incredibly rewarding and allowed me to expand my skills and knowledge in the field of software engineering.

Rock ContentSoftware Engineer
Feb. 2018 - May. 2019Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, BrazilRock Content is a leading digital content marketing platform that helps businesses create and distribute high-quality content to drive results. During my time at Rock Content, I was given the challenge of standardizing the operations of the Professional Services team. Working in a fast-growing company requires a quick learning curve and a constant ability to adapt to change, so a critical and analytical mindset is key. In this role, I was responsible for proposing consistent solutions for the smooth operation of the company. One of the projects I worked on was the development of the tasq.rocks software, a management system for content tasks (http://staging.tasq.rocks). I collaborated closely with various stakeholders, both inside and outside of the company, to bring this solution to fruition. Another highlight of my time at Rock was a solution I created for the Advanced Content team. They used to spend an average of one hour per content on interview transcriptions, so I applied my knowledge of Machine Learning to create a transcription algorithm that saved the company around R$10k per month. Overall, my time at Rock Content was filled with exciting challenges and the opportunity to make a real impact on the company's operations.

International Department Coordinator
The Y (YMCA)International Department Coordinator
Dec. 2016 - Dec. 2017Rio de Janeiro, BrazilThe YMCA is an international NGO with over 45 million members worldwide. In 2016, I was given the opportunity to head the YMCA International Board of Rio de Janeiro and was responsible for starting the ICCP exchange program, which offered young adults leadership training and the opportunity to work as a camp counselor in the United States. Working in partnership with the Step Up Institute of Belo Horizonte, we faced the challenge of creating the program with limited funding. We were only able to secure resources for the training and transportation of chaperones from Belo Horizonte to provide coaching on the weekends. To overcome this challenge, my team and I negotiated with the YMCA director of sports to obtain a 5% share of the profits in exchange for using their soccer field as a training location. However, we still faced the challenge of attracting enough paying participants to make the program viable. Without any money for advertising, we utilized social media and asked staff and members to share information about the program. As the program approached and we had not yet reached our goals, we started giving lectures at universities to introduce the program and invite more participants. In the end, ICCP had 38 participants and 17 travelers in its first year in Rio, spanning 12 different US states. This was a significant achievement given that the program had only had 100 participants per year in Belo Horizonte for 35 years.

Utilizing technologies such as React, Flask, WordPress, Heroku, and various front-end tools, I was able to create a visually appealing and user-friendly platform that included interactive maps, charts, and data visualization features. My goal was to provide an efficient and streamlined experience for our clients as they navigated the cultural exchange process. Overall, it was a rewarding experience to be able to contribute to the Dibs mission and support the growth of international cultural exchange programs

Founder & Software Engineer
Leep - leep.com.brFounder & Software Engineer
Apr. 2014 - Oct. 2015Belo Horizonte e Região, BrasilLeep was a startup founded with the goal of creating a social network where entrepreneurs could connect with investors and potential partners. When my partners and I first started Leep, we had no money, limited programming and business knowledge, and no office. Despite these challenges, we were able to persuade a marketer we met through a friend to lend us a room in his office so we could use it for work. As the only one with a bit of programming experience, I took on the challenge of learning the languages needed to create the platform and even taught one of my partners how to program as well. Using a preliminary version of Facebook as a base, I spent my time divided between learning to program, developing the platform, and exchanging knowledge with other professionals in the same office. After almost two years of hard work, we were unable to find the correct market fit and decided to end the company with just over 700 users. Although the project did not ultimately succeed, it was an incredibly rewarding experience to work on a project with rapid development, high performance, and constant learning. I was able to translate stakeholder requirements into software implementation using PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL, and contributed to product development and marketing from start to finish.
Undergraduate Research Fellow
Universidade Federal de Minas GeraisUndergraduate Research Fellow
Aug. 2013 - Aug. 2014Belo HorizonteDuring my time at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), I had the opportunity to participate in a research group focused on Quantum Computing and Information. This experience allowed me to learn about research and development and develop a strong understanding of scientific material. In this group, we worked on developing quantum algorithms for machine learning, making progress in understanding the behavior and properties of quantum systems at the cellular level, and developing new methods for simulating and modeling these systems. As much of the field of Quantum Computing is still in development, the best resources are often scientific papers, which required me to be fluent in reading and understanding this type of material. This skill has proven invaluable to me as I have continued to study software systems and programming. The ability to understand and analyze complex scientific material has allowed me to approach software development with a critical and analytical mindset, ensuring that the systems I create are efficient and effective. I am grateful for the opportunity to have gained this skill and continue to utilize it on a daily basis as I strive to keep up with the ever-evolving field of software development.
