I'm Fernando Seguim, a software engineer by training and entrepreneur by vocation. I have over 15 years of experience developing digital products, with a strong focus on financial infrastructure for fintechs, neobanks, and companies building embedded financial services.
Today, I’m the founder and CEO of Guardia, a Cloud Native and Open Source Core Banking platform designed to offer high-performance, customizable systems for companies that want to launch and scale financial products with agility, security, and control. Guardia follows an Open Core strategy, combining open technology with enterprise-grade services to drive innovation while keeping costs under control.
Before Guardia, I was a partner and Head of Engineering and Product at Bankly, where I helped scale the core platform and played a key role in its evolution during a series of strategic M&As. I also contributed to the core banking and ledger systems at Nomad and worked as a software engineer at Stone.
I’m passionate about entrepreneurship, political economics, and the intersection between technology and social transformation. I dedicate part of my time to studying the history of financial innovation and political economy to better understand the forces that shape our markets and societies.More...

Establishing both myself and my career on a foundation of integrity, I’m a longstanding Software Engineer with over 12 years of experience helping companies from early-stage startups to Fortune 500s attain new levels of innovation, operational efficiency, and overall organizational success. Heavily focused on people, progress, and large-picture progression, I bring with me extensive expertise involving system lifecycles, software design/integration, programming languages, coding principles, and the art of fostering healthy workplace environments via leading with a moral compass and an open mind. That said, throughout my career I've played an integral part in securing measurable impacts that have helped propel business initiatives forward across national and international scales. Examples include internationalizing Amazon’s operational systems, developing a Smart Energy platform for one of the world's largest metal anMore...
