Oct. 2018 - May. 2019SingaporeWith effect from 12 January 2018, the Career Development Interest Group (CDIG) will transit to become a full-fledged association - People and Career Development Association (PCDA). The Singapore Registry of Societies has registered PCDA as a Society on Dec 19, 2017 under the Societies Act. The gazette notification effecting the registration was published in the Government Gazette, Electronic Edition, on 28/12/2017. To further develop career development in Singapore, PCDA’s mission is: - Promote and Advocate for Career Development in Singapore - Advance Career Development Practices in Singapore - Ensure sustainability to promote members’ interests and benefits Our 1st event was on 27 August 2018 on "Career Practitioners Conference 2018 - Getting Ready for the Future of Work". It was a joint inaugural event with Workforce Singapore (WSG) and with Ms Josephine Teo representing the Ministry of Manpower officiating the event. It promises career practitioners such as career coaches, education & career guidance counsellors as well as HR practitioners, social service officers, industry mentors, career consultants and anyone in the role of providing education and career advisory, the opportunity to glean insights from international subject matter experts on the latest career development theories and practices as well as new workplace trends that are influencing hiring practices. We look forward to members coming onboard with us in impacting, contributing as well as learning as a community for people and career development.
