Jan. 2005 - Jan. 2007Responsible for 24 X 7 support of production mission critical Hewlett Packard, Solaris, Windows and Linux servers. Responsible for Veritas Cluster Manager, Veritas Foundation Suite, Logical Volume Manager, Sendmail, DNS. NIS, NFS. Responsible for production databases in a mixed Oracle environment comprised of 8i, 9i and 10g. Installed and configured RAC 10g with ASM, Veritas Cluster Server. Responsible for day to day administration of the Operating environments, monitoring, patching, development of best practices for Solaris 8, 9 & 10, HP-UX 10.20, 11.00 and 11i, Linux Fedora Core, Linux Enterprise Server, Linux 64 bit, Windows 2003 Advanced Server, Windows XP professional administration and upgrades, performance and tuning / O/S hardening of all platforms. Shell scripting in csh, ksh and bourne shell, Perl, C, SQL and PL/SQL to enhance our monitoring capabilities of our clients databases and server farms. Worked with Clarion and Symetrix EMC SAN configuration and administration including Navisphere, Snap View and Time Finder. Worked with many aspects of networking including firewalls and VPN clients. Some of the VPN clients include Microsoft PPTP, IPSec, Linksys VPN client, checkpoint, Cisco VPN and SSH. Administrated and monitored Oracle databases for 8i, 9i and 10g environments including RAC. Developed performance and tuning guidelines, backup and recovery with and without RMAN, implemented and configured new instance of Oracle. Also, addressed replication and standby server implementation as well as security and core RDBMS functionality via OEM and command line. Authored a chapter in a soon to be released book by TUSC on Operating Systems performance and tuning. Worked with high availability software such as Veritas Cluster Server, Life Keeper and MC/ServiceGuard. E xposure to HACMP. Project managed projects consisting of database implementations, server implementations, SAN implementations and configurations.
