Jan. 2006I have worked independently since 2006. The label has changed over time — from project manager and IT delivery lead to CTO/CIO roles — but the work has always sat at the point where technology decisions meet business consequences.
Early independent work focused on stabilising critical systems, delivering specific platforms, and standing up IT and delivery organisations for corporates and scale‑ups. Over time, as digital programmes became larger and more visible at the board level, the scope shifted from single projects into multi‑year transformations with regulatory, vendor‑management, and governance constraints.
Early achievements included recovering a stalled mobile operator launch in Uganda, consolidating ICT services for DHL across 13 Nordic countries into a Prague hub, managing large‑scale platform replacements at AVG ahead of IPO, and building out delivery and PMO capabilities for utilities, energy, and payments clients. Later roles — listed below — cover CIO/CTO and director positions in renewable energy, software delivery, venture building, and IFI‑funded advisory, and map the shift into running the business side of complex digital programmes.
This independent work builds on an earlier vendor‑side chapter in telecoms and enterprise software (1998–2005): building Alcatel’s Czech value‑added‑reseller network, managing international calling, roaming, and premium SMS products at Oskar (now Vodafone Czech Republic), and selling Oracle E‑Business Suite into manufacturing and utilities.
