• Cover the role of an expert in selected/various technologies concerning state of the art knowledge on production processes or product development,
• Provide cost transparency to components within Product Development Projects and evaluate in collaboration with Development alternative scenarios for cost and value optimized component design (e.g. raw material, production process, production location, function cost oriented design…),
• Support Purchasing in achieving cost target(s) during awarding process of developed components on basis of cost structure analysis,
• Analyze the cost of running components and their production process and develop cost optimized scenarios,
• Support Purchasing throughout the transfer of cost reductions into price reduction by providing negotiation arguments,
• Organize and lead workshops with Development or Purchasing and occasionally Suppliers to achieve cost transparency and optimize cost,
• Act as first and direct contact person for internal customers as there are Development, Purchasing, Quality Management, Logistics,
• Support internal customer pro-actively in the selection, specification and projects set-up and suggest most adequate approaches
