Mar. 2015 - Sep. 2019I love to help people find their way. And what better time is that then before they begin University or when they are beginning and need help the first semester the most out of any other year? I get to meet new people, fantastic kids who are eager to learn and to adapt themselves into the SFU life. I get to know them and help them out with whatever they need because this will make their studies so much more enjoyable and this way they will also never be alone and know they have a friend to listen and aid when they need one; on call nonetheless. I answer questions, direct them to the right people for help and make sure they understand have someone to talk to at all times, especially in their first year.
Franchisee Manager of Coquitlam District
Students Works PaintingFranchisee Manager of Coquitlam District
Jan. 2015 - Nov. 2015I ran my own business through the Student Works Painting Franchise for 8 months. What my business would do is go paint interior and exteriors of anything from complex apartment rooms and residential housing to any private businesses looking for a paint job. During this time I hired my own workers, closed deals with clients in order to give my employees work and made sure my clients were left happy with the work done. In my time during marketing and sales, i dropped flyers at doors, sent my flyers through the mail, placed lawn signs and distributed my business card. When with customers I presented to them a personalized estimate of their home, the products used, the hours spent and the number of painters that would be on site. I discussed pricing, design and colour and products with them during our meetings. Then in my time during production, I ordered paint by calculation, bought supplies, materials and equipment which my employees would use aside from any they would bring themselves as most of them were experienced in the field already. Alongside these tasks I continued sales and meeting with new clients and scheduling further jobs. I also ran 2 to 3 different sites daily and visited each in part daily. At the end of the job I would meet with the client to finish the agreement.
Retail Sales Associate
Canucks Sports & EntertainmentRetail Sales Associate
Nov. 2012 - Jan. 2015I was a cashier in the arena both on the floor, which meant when concerts occurred I would sell the merchandise of our client. When I was working for the Canucks, I worked games, which were night shifts and helped the customers purchase their Canucks Merchandise at the tills. I was also on the floor as a sales associate; I spoke with the customers, helped find their preferences, referred them to the right areas of the store or the rest of the arena. I made sure to given them history and information on products and the Canuck players themselves. Lastly, I was trained for Jersey Pressing. This means my occupation was the "kerning" and design of any patches, words, symbols that support a Jersey. I would heat press them onto the Jersey using specific measurements depending on size of jersey, design demanded, custom design and orders, etc. I have worked with 'tills' which are portable registers; debit, credit, AMEX, and cash transactions. I have worked with large amounts of cash on hand during concerts.
