Ernst & YoungNational Leader, eCommerce, ISAAS
Jan. 1997 - Dec. 1999Toronto, Ontario, CanadaeCommerce Evangelist, Educator, Visionary I was first introduced to Ernst & Young while still at ManGlobe – and was invited in to explain eCommerce and its impact on E&Y services at two, two-day internal E&Y conferences in Toronto and Dallas. We eventually had discussions of join efforts with ManGlobe, until its demise halted those discussions, and opened a new employment arrangement. I joined the Firm as a Principal first, and was immediately ‘tried by fire’ – and tasked to project manage the delivery of a complex freight payment processing and EDI exchange system for several large retail clients. I was then given a multifaceted role of helping the Firm and its Clients figure out eCommerce in Canada. I received an offer of Partnership, in the ISAAS – the Information System Assurance and Advisory Service, a specialty practice within the Audit group. I remained with the Firm until the sale of the Management Consulting Practice and the winding down of Advisory Services. The following are several facets of my role at Ernst & Young Canada; · Clarifying the eCommerce impacts on existing IT Audit Methodologies and new Internet transaction Trust Auditing Methodologies: including WebTrust and Security. · Positioning eCommerce within the Firm to e-enable services: Cross-discipline working group with participants from TAX, Management Consulting, Legal, Finance with my team -- Audit. · Empowering the Partners and Industry Teams: Service team participation and pursuit planning · Delivering eCommerce Strategy with Clients: Visioning and brainstorming sessions, site planning and analysis, channel strategies, security impacts, privacy concerns · Representing Canada as Liaise with the US eCommerce team and Ernst & Young International: and in the business marketplace · Delivering eBusiness Advisory Services to Clients: Strategy, Planning, Analysis, Solution Design, Project Management, IT Audit support
