May. 2007 - Oct. 2007Stellenbosch, South Africa Sales training through alignment of the sales training courses to NQF requirements  This was done through obtaining support from all Sales Group General Managers and the Sales Director  The result being that these aligned courses are recognised as a Sales Academy that is available to all representatives in Distell  Delivered Distell’s first Regional Sales Management Development Programme (RSMDP) in conjunction with Deon Furnell (See Reference section for details) during August 2007  At the time no other company in South Africa had presented a similar internal programme  Upon benchmarking with similar university programmes this programme was found to be superior in terms of quality of content and cost  Delivered bespoke training programmes for the customer sales consultants, field credit representatives and brand home representatives

Aug. 2001 - May. 2007Epping, South AfricaCompetency Model Implementation:  Successfully implemented this project involving 6 divisions and approximately 2600 employees well ahead of time Operations People Capability Strategy:  The strategy was tabled with the HR Director as well as the business planning conference and was approved for implementation in all six divisions in Operations  Implemented a world-class programme (Mission Directed Teams MDT)  Integrating the programme with leadership development, performance management systems, team coaching, team and individual audits as well as supervisory training programmes  Developed and presented this programme to 20 operational teams  It became a model site not only within the company, but also for external visitors  The "Brandcrafters" initiative remains in place to this day in Distell. This involved facilitating focus group discussions and using this information to "distill" the essence of the current and the "to be" culture of the company. The latter part of the project focused on rolling out the new corporate values and aligned all communication, templates, corporate meetings and functions, training and IT systems to the "new way" Projects implemented in this position: Distell Induction – Revised induction programme for Distell and upgraded all materials, booklets and procedures Time & Attendance system – Implemented new Blicks system. First implementation for Distell, enabling integration with SAP. Employee Performance Management System - Served as project team member every year since inception of EPMS system, including EPMS for Bargaining Unit. Distell Leadership Development Programme – Served as project team member to initiate and develop this programme in conjunction with GIBS University.

Aug. 1998 - Jul. 2001Stellenbosch, South Africa Managed the major changes in roles and company culture away from typical mainframe batch processing to newly developed job and role descriptions with online processing which required very different behaviours from all business system users  Managed the change in culture via various channels including training ("Blue Users" - Process champions), focus groups lead by "Green Users" (Senior business thought leaders) and monthly newsletters  These Blue and Green Users reported to me at project level and I was responsible for supervising the development of all training materials and user communication Achievements in this position:  Training Project Leader in two successful SAP R/3 implementation projects  Managed the development and integration of online help for SAP R/3 on Doc-to-Help software including Business Processes and System Task cue cards  This was supported with bespoke training material that was used for class room based training as well as reference guides  Published several newsletters featuring articles that supported the change initiatives within the SAP R/3 environment, called the SAP NEWS, which supported user learning and involvement with new SAP concepts and practices
