Jessica Golda, RN, BSN, CNE, earned her associate degree in nursing from St. Luke's College of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Coastal Carolina University. She has 17 years of nursing experience and 11 years in pediatric emergency care. For the past two years, she has managed the Center of Healthcare Training and Simulation Excellence (simulation lab) at Florida Southwestern State College for the School of Health Professions. Jessica developed simulation education and corporate training for local healthcare facilities. She has also developed budgets and managed building oversight in developing several simulation labs. During the pandemic, she was a nursing educator for Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida's Pediatric Emergency Department. Jessica maintains current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, and CPEN. She is also a Certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor. Jessica has been a charge nurse leader, endoscopy technician, pediatric and adult trauma specialist, and nursing education champion throughout her nursing career. She has revised policies and established protocols based on current evidence-based practices. Jessica initiated and published the policy and procedure for the use of Nitrous Oxide/Oxide therapy as an analgesic alternative to opioid administration in the pediatric demographic. In 2018, Jessica received the Naples Community Hospital Nurse of the Year Award for her dedication to providing excellent care to the community of Naples. In 2024, the Society of Simulation in Healthcare nominated her for Simulation Director of the Year. Jessica has shifted her work from the bedside to the academic setting, continuing the strong work of helping others.
