I fulfilled a dual role as Lead Data Center Operations Engineer and Sr. Manager of Procurement with Qualys. As Lead Data Center Operations Engineer, I was directly responsible for Qualys’ data center operations supporting the full portfolio of cloud and endpoint detection services globally. These responsibilities included site selection, vendor negotiations, procurement of hardware, delivery and build-out of the relevant data center spaces. In addition, I was the direct interface between Qualys and vendor support teams. I directly managed all site approved access lists and approved access for one-time only access needs. As Procurement Lead, I managed all procurement requests for the Qualys Global teams. I had direct responsibility in scoping, vendor selection, BOM review, order submission, order tracking, managing delivery, receiving, asset management and hand off to PMO and/or build teams. I was directly responsible for vendor management and negotiations with our prime vendors, helping to drive lowest cost basis for hardware and services provided. Selected Achievements:
• Tripled Infrastructure footprint globally through physical expansion / consolidations and cloud resources (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) • Tech Refresh of server and network infrastructure across data centers in US, Switzerland, India and France. Consolidation of systems on a 3 or 4 to 1 basis. • Deployment of infrastructure to support micro-services and Containers (Kubernetes, Redis, etc) • Network infrastructure tech refresh to 40Gb / 100Gb back end and redundant mesh 10Gb transit within and between global sites.
