- Evaluates, redacts, and combines information to be appropriate for release to either the public or an agency.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, to combine and redact open records requests.
- Communicates with the public and agencies to ensure their request is processed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Releases open records requests via email, fax, in person, and US mail. - Communicates with internal personnel to obtain requested records such as arrest, building reports, dash, body cam, and dash cam footage.
- Uses Spillman and AbleTerm to look up information pertaining to requests and compiles information from the results. Operates a fire computer-aided dispatching console consisting of a multi-button telephone system, base radio, and computer terminal.
- Answers incoming calls and extracts necessary information from citizens.
- Evaluates incoming calls to determine the nature and urgency of the call.
- Dispatches the appropriate fire/EMS unit(s).
- Keeps track of the status and location of all fire apparatus and fire investigators.
- Transmits messages and information to fire/EMS units responding to calls.
- Questions callers to determine the nature and location of the problem, extracts and records essential information, and provides proper instructions to callers.
- Dispatches via a radio console, emergency and other calls requiring law enforcement response.
