Jun. 2007 - Jun. 2011Operate and monitor communications, detection, and weapons systems essential for
controlling air, ground, and naval operations. Duties included maintaining and relaying
critical communications between air, naval, and ground forces; implementing emergency
plans for natural and wartime disasters; relaying command center information to high-level
military and government decision makers; monitoring surveillance and detection systems,
such as air defense; interpreting and evaluating tactical situations and making
recommendations to superiors; and operating weapons targeting, firing, and launch computer
systems. During duration of active duty enlistment, was stationed at various units such
as Training Center Cape May, USCGC Rush, Training Center Petaluma, and USCGC Bertholf.
Advanced from rank E-1 to E-5 during first 3 years of enlistment. -Created and maintained the Government “Red” Passport program at my unit by giving
training to over 200 people, guiding members one on one, and utilizing resources at our
support command to increase the number of crew members that possessed passports from 8% to
95%, saving over 100 man-hours and increasing the unit's operational status.
-On temporary duty with administrative support, using Microsoft Office audited over $650K
worth of mass transit claims saving the CG over 50 man-hours and reduced the number of
inaccurate claims by 70%.
-Created over 100 flight briefs containing flight boxes, current weather, emergency
procedures, and maintenance schedule increasing the safety of flight operations for both
the ship and the flight crews.
-Created and maintained over 30 training records for my division as well as established
and implemented an operational based training schedule.
