Sep. 2021In my current role at SHI as a Messaging Solutions Architect, I have led and participated in several projects that have delivered solutions to
several SHI customers on time and within budget. Below is a brief description of projects completed and in progress with SHI.
• Successfully migrated over 700 users and their mailboxes to SMC’s Microsoft 365 global tenant. These users were migrated from
disjointed email systems in several South American countries, including Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Bolivia.
• Delivered Active Directory assessments for SMC U.S and NRECA.
• AD Assessment and AAD Connect deployment for Farmington Municipal School System.
• Exchange 2019 hybrid deployment for Macerich.
• Exchange 2013 migration to ExchangeOnline for CoreLogic Australia for over 1200 mailboxes.
• Migration of Exchange and GWS email using Quest ODME for multiple SHI customer
MetLifePrincipal Messaging and Microsoft365 Systems Engineer
May. 2015Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina AreaDuring my nine years at MetLife, As a principal engineers I been responsible for leading the digital and AI transformation of our associate's end-user experience. I have led several projects to deploy some of the most significant end-user game-changing technologies that have emerged in the market in the last decade. From the migration to the Microsoft 365/Azure cloud for MetLife’s email and instant messaging services to the introduction and migration to Microsoft Teams in 2020 to the most recent introduction to Gen AI within the Office Apps for our associates with CoPilot for M365. In 2024, I have formulated a strategy to best introduce Gen AI to end users while articulating the AI and ML technology to senior leadership, IT Risk and Security and the governance teams. In my current role at MetLife as a Principal Microsoft 365 and Messaging Engineer part of the End-user technologies organization, I am a subject matter expert responsible for overseeing and charting MetLife's Email, Office Gen AI, and Microsoft 365 technology roadmaps. Being one of the officers in charge of this platform includes multiple responsibilities such as Technology Selection & Evaluation, Engineering Design, Deployment Planning and Operationalization Handover, and End-user support of many of the Messaging services, Gen AI, and Microsoft 365 solutions that our Global business partners have come to expect and depend on. Also, serving as a leader and mentor to our Messaging Engineering team is one of my most significant responsibilities and one that I genuinely enjoy. At the core of my role is the ability to effectively collaborate as a partner with all MetLife associates and provide them with world-class End-User technologies at the lowest cost, efficiently, and with security always in mind. Protecting MetLife’s user and customer data is paramount to me as a professional and person.
Deutsche BankAVP - Messaging Engineering
Sep. 2013 - Jun. 2014Cary NCAt Deutsche Bank, I served as a key Technical Lead in charge of the planning, design and analysis of the bank's messaging infrastructure transformation from Lotus notes to an Exchange server based modern, consolidated and cost effective solution for 120,000 mailboxes. The transformation consisted of the design, deployment and migration of the infrastructure to a new global managed services vendor. The new messaging infrastructure included a global HA site & inter-site D.R resilient solution to ensure business continuity of messaging services even after a complete site failure. The solution also included all the advanced technologies of Exchange Server 2010 as well as security, journaling, automation, application\user mail separation and message hygiene\DLP using Sendmail.
In this role I also provided 3rd level support to operations teams when high level incidents occurred, I ensured that these incidents were quickly resolved and ensured that a RCA was created.
Fidelity InvestmentsLead Messaging Systems Engineer
Apr. 2012 - Sep. 2013RTP, NCAt Fidelity Investments I held a lead messaging engineering position in which I was responsible for
the architecture, design and deployment of solutions for the Company's messaging infrastructure
including Exchange 2010 as well as the Sendmail SMTP perimeter backbone. During
my tenure at Fidelity I was the lead engineer on different projects which were delivered
successfully from RFP to architecture design, proof of concept, UAT testing, Production deployment,
Application cut-over, Migration and hand-over to operations teams providing the proper maintenance
plan and documentation. As a Senior Messaging Systems Engineer I also represented the Messaging &
Directory organization in several IT application and infrastructure projects requiring knowledge of
messaging and security. I assisted to define messaging & directory strategies, technology roadmap,
optimization, cost cutting and research analysis. Here are some more details about some of the projects that I delivered and collaborated on during
my time as a Lead Messaging Systems Engineer at Fidelity Investments:
*Design, Deployment and Migration of the Exchange 2010 site-resilient Infrastructure to host 70000
mailboxes using DAG technology. The Exchange 2010 infrastructure deployed included an HA site &
inter-site D.R resilient solution to ensure business continuity of messaging even after a complete
site failure. The solution also included all the new features of Exchange Server 2010 as well as
security, journaling, automation, application\user mail separation and message hygiene\DLP using
Sendmail.
*I also designed and led a team of engineers through the successful migration of the company's
e-mail backbone and encryption solution from a legacy Trend-Micro and IronPort solution to a new
efficient and secure Sendmail\Voltage solution that provides full A\V and DLP protection for up to
5 million inbound and outbound messages per day.
