Apr. 2018 - Aug. 2021Doha, QatarRemah Gharib is an Associate Professor of Urban Design and Architecture at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, where he specializes in researching the contemporary urban challenges of the Islamic world. Dr. Gharib received his Ph.D. in Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Nottingham, where he developed his knowledge of revitalization and management of historic quarters. His research focuses on the aspects of public policy formulation and Implementation in the field of Urbanism. Before receiving his Ph.D., he earned his Masters of Architecture in Urban Design from the University of Nottingham, with a focus on the management of historic conservation cities. He received his Bachelor in Architectural Engineering from Misr International University in Cairo. Since joining the College of Islamic Studies, member of Hamad Bin Khalifa University in August 2011, Dr. Gharib has been coordinating the Urban Design and Architecture in Muslim Societies program and teaching various courses at the Master level. He annually organizes the International Symposium at CIS. He has a vast publishing record in several refereed journals, international peer-reviewed conferences. Also, he serves on many Scientific Committees and Editorial Advisory Boards such as the Journal of Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainable Development and the International Conference on Heritage and Sustainability.
