Jun. 2006 - Jan. 2012Hired by the Adventist Health’s Southern California Regional Datacenter, Shem completed a complete inventory of all servers, applications, databases and data ETL processes and data access. Shem implemented best practices defined by each application’s vendor or by industry standards.
After receiving Adventist Health’s Eagle Award (employee of the year), Shem was tasked with developing a plan to optimize the Southern California Regional Datacenter.
Shem, working with the CTO and the Enterprise Director of Operations, developed a plan to virtualize 98% of the servers and relocate the virtualized servers and applications to the data centers within the hospitals in the Southern California area and to the Corporate data center in Northern California. Leading a team of IT Directors and Network Engineers across the Entertainment, Shem led the Southern Call Optimization and Consolidation Project, reporting directly to the CTO.
The project took two years to complete and became the Enterprise Model for Datacenter Optimization and Consolidation.
