I am a designer, a design & research leader, mentor & coach, with 20+ years of experience in a great range of products, industries and user circumstances: from eCommerce and social media, to consumer weather platforms, data analytics platforms, 2-sided marketplaces, tourism marketing and recruitment marketing. To get the most from my design team, I always focus on: * Creating and cultivating a culture that is transparent, collaborative and empowering. This goes beyond the design team and into the teams we partner with. We solicit and make use of feedback, we lead with our commitment to understanding and advocacy for the user and we aim to be a source of energy for the entire organization. * Coaching and mentoring my designers on the craft and business of design, asking them to stretch and grow, helping them see their own paths with crisp clarity. * Introducing and connecting impactful approaches to tackle the difficult human problems in front of us, learning from past efforts, uncovering insights through research and measurement.
