Fairfax MediaDigital Account Manager
May. 2015 - Aug. 2016I'm was lucky enough to work in the brand sales team at Fairfax alongside a plethora of fantastic, driven, and clever people. As a Digital Account Manager - Agency Sales, I worked with Ikon, Bohemia, Frontier, Warren International London, and Intermedia UAE across an A-list stable of brands such as CBA, NIB, Vodafone, Bankwest, Ubank, Lend Lease, Lion, Westfield etc. Just before I made the switch to performance and programmatic, I did a short stint in Group M looking after Maxus and Essence. The primary focus of my role was the commercialization of the premium Fairfax properties: SMH, The Age, Brisbane Times, Canberra Times, WA Today, and The Australian Financial Review. Monthly, over 10 million Australians interact and engage with Fairfax and it was my responsibility to provide my clients, new, unique and interactive ways to commence a conversation with them. I also worked very closely with our Brands and Audiences teams, Data team, Ad Ops team, Performance team (which I later joined) and in house Strategy team - MADE, to ensure every response put forward was of the highest caliber and precisely to brief. As times rolled on, I took a keen interest in digital ad development, data and insights, programmatic and mobile. I ensured I was learning as much as possible by interacting with those teams daily, and doing my fair share of reading and self paced learning. Achieved a FY result of 104% to plan of a $2.5M+ budget, racking up 15 new business wins and 5 lapsed client wins along the way. I was fortunate enough to commence a mentorship with Tom Armstrong - Commercial & Marketing Services Director.
