Jolly Learning LtdProgrammes Manager, Jolly Futures
Apr. 2021 - Mar. 2025AfricaAs Programmes Manager at Jolly Futures, I led the delivery, expansion, and sustainability of literacy programmes—namely Jolly Phonics—across sub-Saharan Africa. My role encompassed leadership and strategy, programme delivery and management, budgeting and financial oversight, partnerships and collaboration, training and capacity building, and curriculum development and support. I managed the full programme lifecycle—planning, implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance—while ensuring alignment with organisational goals and national education priorities. I was responsible for managing programme budgets to ensure cost-effective delivery and financial accountability. A key part of my role involved developing and implementing the "Training of Trainers" programme for Jolly Futures across Kenya, South Africa, Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia, and Ethiopia. This programme empowered educators with the skills and knowledge needed to train others, thereby scaling the impact of Jolly Phonics and ensuring long-term sustainability. I also worked closely with governments, NGOs, and education stakeholders to build strong, collaborative partnerships and advocate for sustainable, systemic change. As a passionate advocate for literacy, I championed Jolly Phonics as a proven tool for foundational reading and writing, and worked to drive long-term impact through scalable, high-quality, and locally owned initiatives.
