Apr. 2009 - Mar. 2023Lagos, Nigeria• As a member of the board and part of management consultant I developed strategies to reduce the vulnerability and improve productivity of youths through daily and weekly programs with JAKIN Initiatives. This is carried out by understanding the gaps with youth population mainly the disadvantaged, sourcing for funds and aggregating talents discovered into key vocational and entrepreneurial programs. JAKIN reached well over 20,000 youth since the program inception about 15 years ago. Most funds have been through crowd funding, partners and grants. The trainings are well thought out by experts using divers teaching methods such as the use of power point presentation, group work, vocational skill training, others are basic business principles, entrepreneurial skills, sales and marketing, work etiquette, morals and much more. Many youths have started their own micro to medium scale business or employed in many organizations as some who do very well are tutored by banks and a few other multinationals as interns. This has echoed their voices within their communities affirming the culture they echo with within their divers’ communities. • One major funder has continued to fund this program for 5 years at a roll due to the impact of the program in Nigeria. The program promotes innovations to address longer-term systemic change to achieve economic prosperity and social well-being with youth s in Lagos and Nigeria.
