May. 2008 - Dec. 2015Palo Alto, CaliforniaSenior Group Manager, Global Events Lead strategic integrated event marketing functions for the largest customer and partner events for the company including VMworld US (23,000 attendees), VMworld Europe (10,000 attendees), Partner Exchange (4,500 attendees) and Partner Leadership Summit (500 attendees): Audience Acquisition - Manage all internal and external activities that drive event awareness, registration, and audience engagement including sales incentives, customer and partner promotions, integrated marketing campaigns including website content, social media strategy, paid search, print and digital assets, media buys and segmented email campaigns to attract, retain, and convert over 38,000 + attendees annually, generating $20+M in revenue. Experiential Design - Own the design and execution of the brand driven customer journey and user interface from digital through the attendee onsite journey ensuring key messages and engagements supports overall event goals. Attendee Engagement - Creatively direct the premier customer and partner networking events globally for up to 15,000+ guests with annual budgets of $5M. Event Branding - Lead global event theme development and brand engagement across all channels including websites, digital and print, advertising, onsite experience and $1.5M+ in attendee premiums. Vendor Management - Select, procure and partner with multiple creative, brand, advertising and event management agencies externally. Team Lead - Manage internal and external teams of subject matter experts, engage with multiple cross-functional stakeholder teams, and obtain executive approval for audience acquisition goals, strategic and marketing programs.
