Jan. 2002 - Dec. 2011Weathersfield, Vermont, United StatesI’ve built a career at the intersection of technology and innovation, delivering impactful solutions across mobile, enterprise, and healthcare domains. Earlier in my career, I managed all aspects of IT for Precision Contract Manufacturing, leading a team to provide 24/7 mission-critical support. My work spanned software, hardware, and network support, utilizing tools like MS Server 2003/2008, Exchange, SharePoint, Exact Max, Great Plains, ADP, Visual Basic, Access, and Crystal Reports. Each role reflects my commitment to innovation, problem-solving, and delivering technology that makes a difference. ► At Dartmouth College, I created the iDartmouth app for iPhone and Android, designing and developing the entire server and client systems from scratch using Java, MongoDB, and Appcelerator, and successfully deploying it on iTunes and Android Market. ► At Precision Contract Manufacturing in Springfield, Vermont, I served as the company's external CTO for over a decade, advising the company on all facets of computing and data processing as well as supporting custom machinery. ► I also founded TriageLink, an iPhone-based data-gathering tool for EMTs, which was once available on iTunes, showcasing my passion for leveraging technology to solve real-world challenges. ► As a consultant for mFoundry, I supported the development of a mobile banking application, utilizing a wide range of technologies including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Java, J2EE, JBoss, SOA, REST, Hibernate, Selenium, jQuery, and Eclipse. ► In the realm of web application development, I spearheaded the architecture and development of Homeseekster.com, a real estate platform featuring MLS lookups and local resources. May. 2001 - Dec. 2005As a senior technical resource for the company’s Applications Division Development Services (ADEVSRV) international SCM process implementation team, I played a pivotal role in driving the design and implementation of critical systems that powered our global operations. This role allowed me to combine my technical expertise with a strategic approach to ensure the success of our global SCM processes and the security of our applications division. ► I worked extensively with Oracle (through 10g), Oracle SCM, Perl, Java, XML, C, PL/SQL, HTTP, WebDAV, DeltaV, SOA, LDAP, SSO, and SaaS to create and manage the network access APIs and access paths that allowed client processes to communicate with the divisional SCM metadata database. These APIs were exercised hundreds of thousands of times daily across both internal development environments and hosted customer environments, ensuring seamless communication and data access. ► I was also responsible for designing the divisional SCM security strategy and overseeing its implementation, serving as the point person for all authentication and information security issues. I managed cross-application compliance efforts, ensuring that our systems adhered to the highest standards of security and performance. ► In addition to my core responsibilities, I provided technical leadership for developer design reviews and implementations, offering guidance and support throughout the development process. Lakeville InternetTechnical Director
Mar. 1995 - Jul. 1996I founded and built the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Litchfield County, Connecticut, creating a groundbreaking service that brought the internet to the local community. This role was a true labor of love, combining technical expertise, leadership, and a passion for connecting people to the digital world. ► From the ground up, I designed and implemented the hardware and software infrastructure, which included 3 UNIX (Linux) machines, 7 PCs running Windows 95, 1 Apple Macintosh, 1 NeXT, a Cisco router, CSU/DSU, UPS, and 32 modems across three floors. The initial Linux server was bootstrapped with Slackware CD distribution ‘2.1’ (kernel version 1.1.16), and subsequent production versions were downloaded from sunsite.unc.edu. I also contracted and implemented a T1 Internet connection and designed a 32-line telephone dial-up service. ►As the driving force behind the ISP, I managed the day-to-day operations, overseeing a team of six full-time and three part-time employees. I provided 24/7 system administration for three Linux servers and ensured uninterrupted service for 400 dial-up subscribers and several hosted websites. I also developed an automated customer billing package and web hit log analysis tool in Perl, streamlining operations. Additionally, I created courseware for public Internet-use classes and actively promoted Internet adoption in the local area, helping to bridge the digital divide.
