This strategic initiative resulted in a 280,000 sq. ft. (28,000 m²) facility designed to serve as a cross-dock, warehousing, and e-commerce fulfillment hub (including Section 321 operations). Our vision was to expand this model across the U.S.–Mexico border, enabling us to support both maquiladora customers and U.S. companies seeking to optimize and integrate their logistics. The project aimed to deliver cost savings, operational efficiency, and scalable B2C/B2B solutions—strengthening Maersk’s position as a true end-to-end integrator in the region.

Starting in a company that began as a customs broker, I worked closely with the CEO and leadership team to design, launch, and expand new logistics services and products from the ground up. We were pioneers in 3PL and e-commerce fulfillment in Tijuana and Mexico, driving a remarkable expansion from our first 70,000 sq. ft. facility to over 1,500,000 sq. ft. of operational space. This growth positioned us as one of the leading providers in the region. Key areas of development included: Section 321 operations for cross-border e-commerce E-commerce fulfillment solutions for B2C and B2B Mexican customs clearance and compliance U.S. customs clearance IMMEX program services for manufacturing clients Freight brokerage for domestic and international shipments Fulfillment & 3PL solutions tailored to client needs This role gave me a deep understanding of both the operational and commercial sides of logistics, preparing me to drive integrated, scalable solutions for complex supply chain challenges in later leadership positions.
