Apr. 2023- Coordinated the implementation of a US Department of Defence-funded SAFIAN surveillance project - building the capacity of health institutions in Nigeria on multi-pathogen molecular testing using the TaqMan Array Card (TAC) platform and modern data handling and management methods. - Oversaw studies screening 1,200 acute febrile illness (AFI) patients in 2 health institutions - University of Abuja Teaching Hospital and Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital for viral, bacterial, and protozoan pathogens responsible for acute febrile illness.
- Led procurement and distribution process of PCR machines, alternative electricity supply equipment, and internet connectivity, reducing turnaround times and preventing stockout events at 6 health institutions, local nonprofits, and government organizations. - Conducted supplier landscaping and due diligence, assessing pricing, vendor quotation processing, delivery timelines, and maintenance contracts to inform procurement decisions and strengthen vendor relationships.
- Facilitated weekly multi-stakeholder meetings with NCDC, APIN, CDC Nigeria, and site Principal Investigators to review project progress, troubleshoot procurement bottlenecks and align distribution strategies with national surveillance priorities.
- Produced quarterly technical and financial reports integrating costing analyses, supply chain performance, and programmatic outcomes for RTI, NCDC, and donor review.
- Strengthened laboratory and surveillance workflows by standardizing data pipelines, optimizing diagnostics, and integrating supply usage tracking into REDCap and R-based dashboards.
- Coordinated the development of 7 manuscripts currently under review to peer-reviewed journals, offering new insights into the descriptive epidemiology of acute febrile illness patients in Nigeria. Supported dissemination of outcomes from on-going surveillance studies through high-level stakeholder meetings, highlighting supply chain, procurement, and diagnostic insights.
