This includes coordinating our internship program (we currently have ten interns), Studio for Students display (a monthly rotating space for K-12 student visual art), Lied Music Generation (private and small group music lessons for underserved middle school students), residency activities with Lied main stage artists (most recently this includes workshops with Sylvia McNair, Nathan Pacheco, Ed Asner, and many more), the Lied Center Performance Fund (a free ticket program for underserved youth), the Pre-Performance Talk Series, and anything else thrown my way by the Director of Community Engagement and Learning, including work for Arts Across Nebraska, the Interdisciplinary Arts Symposium, FamFest, budgets, and planning for upcoming season productions.

Upon graduating from the University in May, I was invited into this position by the Dean and given the task of creating a new internship program to help our students learn about life in the arts outside of the University. This involved researching internships, making contact with Lincoln arts organizations, and recruiting, interviewing, and hiring six student interns. In addition I maintain contact with the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the 4-H and Extension Department to collaborate on activities that help bring the arts and our students to rural Nebraska.

May. 2009 - Aug. 2009For ten weeks I worked with National Symphony Orchestra’s education department. During this time I had many responsibilities including coordinating schedules with symphony members and area schools for performances, contact with students and parents for the Summer Music Institute, major copying duties, work with volunteers, answering phones/emails, and other clerical tasks. I was nicknamed the "spreadsheet queen" by my colleagues, for my work converting many important documents for ease to future interns.
