GEGlobal Director, Digital Media
Jan. 2004 - Dec. 2010Fairfield, CTI led GE's digital media programs for brand and advertising worldwide and managed 100+ creative and technical team members. I introduced new storytelling platforms and first-of-a-kind campaigns for GE’s energy and health initiatives. * Started GE Reports, a daily news service for media, analysts and shareholders. The site has been described as “surprisingly blunt and free-range” by IR Magazine and “a nice variation on the blog” by the Financial Times. * Produced plugintothesmartgrid.com, a unique 3-D web experience about GE’s environmental technologies, which attracted more than a million visitors. Won a Cyber Lion and a Clio for use of augmented reality. * Devised the first-ever digital takeover of Times Square by a company, including a live photo event on World Health Day. BrandWeek named GE a “Guerrilla Marketer of the Year,” and a new advertising model was born – the Times Square “digital roadblock.” * Launched live, Internet-only broadcasts that enabled more than a million consumers and investors to communicate in real time with GE’s CEO. The first live event generated more than 30 news clips, plus kudos from Wall Street analysts. * Transformed ge.com into a leading corporate website, garnering more than 25 industry awards for innovative content, design and technology. * Developed insideGE, the company intranet, with built-in social networking tools, winning the Nielsen Norman Group award for Top 10 Intranets.
