I’ve spent over 45 years practicing medicine, board-certified in vascular neurology, neurocritical care, and interventional neurology. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to contribute to the development of innovative stroke treatments and to help advance care for critically ill neurologic patients. As a medical educator, I’ve held faculty positions at Saint Louis University, UAB, Loyola University Chicago, and the University of Missouri. Teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians remains one of the most meaningful parts of my career. I’m also the author of 11 books and numerous scientific publications, and I frequently speak on both clinical and non-clinical topics, aiming to challenge conventional thinking and promote better outcomes for patients and clinicians alike. In addition to my clinical work, I hold a business degree from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee and am a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. I’ve used these tools to consult on quality improvement initiatives for healthcare systems nationwide. Today, I serve as President and CEO of CK Strategic Solutions Group, a consulting and publishing firm dedicated to helping organizations think critically, solve problems creatively, and lead with clarity.
