• Drove operational strategy definition and development with COO. Co-leadership of all change initiatives with a focus on change related to the areas above, and the people aspects of technology and process change. Directed all communications activities related to change.
• Advisor and troubleshooter for Chief Legal Officer, Chief of Staff and COO on matters ranging from operational strategy to reputational matters. Skilled in assessing issues, unearthing the root causes, and recommending resolution routes.
• Executive Committee secretariat. Functioned as advisor and facilitator to the committee and guided how they use their time as a group, including offsite events and strategic direction. Provided counsel and coaching to members, as requested.
• Managed a team of seven and an operating budget of $3.1m, including three direct reports (people, governance, events and knowledge management) and four indirect (training and talent development embedded in HR, internal communications embedded in Communications). • Broad and varied responsibilities for other ad hoc activities, including collaborating with external parties on proactive reputational activities, speechwriting, annual internal client survey, and authoring Board papers.
Key achievements: Developed strategic change program; overhauled the training and development offering for 1,000 in-house lawyers, increasing budget by four times to a comparable level to other in-house legal teams; developed new global events strategy to enhance global message alignment and reduce cost; refocused the Executive Committee’s activities for efficiency and effectiveness; designed and delivered recruitment and promotions processes to enhance fairness and transparency; increased employee experience and culture scores.
