Sep. 2012 - Sep. 2015Lagos, Nigeria• Faults and request resolution on applications, system availability, backup & restore for internal customers based on IS metrics and the use of remedy • Effective monitoring of the status and performance of data centre environment – power, air conditioning, fire alarm system and physical environment • Monitoring backups using backup detail schedule, escalate backup failure within one hour from the time of failure and restart backup that fails with an error and ensures its completeness • Log incident for all backups detected with errors and send SMS out using putty for all backup failures. • Managing backup tapes and its offsite storage to improve data availability and reliability • Prompt identification of problems in the IS (information systems) environment and advise responsible authority according to standby roasters and escalation procedures. • Managing the stores, Cage area, DMZ and controlling the inventory therein • Managing and controlling of the staging areas and the introduction of new infrastructure into production areas • Physical inspection and reporting on data centre Uniflair ACs, Windows servers, UNIX servers and frames, Storage, fire alarms, etc. • Data centre access control management in line with defined change management procedures. • Backup execution and monitoring being followed as per defined procedures • Prompt identification of unorganized and messy cables in conformity with cabling management and standards maintenance • The data centre environment condition monitoring (temperature, humidity, and power) using the tool available for temperature measurement. • Co-ordination of major incidents across the IS Group on a constant basis • Notify IS support staff of critical events within their environments, proactively and interactively. • Minimizing the downtime of IS components by identifying failures before they impact the IS service.
