Oct. 2023Nairobi County, KenyaProgram Management Analysis and preparation of well-documented memorandums for Mission Director and other senior officials’ authorization Authoritative direction and guidance on technical, reporting and administrative implementation of awards Project financial management, value for money analysis and control Program monitoring Strategic periodic reporting to Kenya mission and USAID/Washington Periodic review of the development context, results indicators, and activity implementation progress Oversight and monitoring of USAID assistance, with a portfolio of $50 million b. Strategic Development and Policy Analysis Cross-sectoral policy analysis and reporting of USAID democracy and governance assistance efforts in Kenya Development of strategic documents, including Mission and Embassy election and governance strategies and programs Authoritative briefings and advice to USAID and US Embassy Coordination of US Government’s democracy and governance-related activities Implementation of DGPS learning agenda c. Strategic Relationships and Representation Joint planning with Government officials, Parliament and non-state stakeholders and academia. Representation of US policy interests at senior- and working-level contexts. Representation of USAID and US Government in meetings with other donors, implementing partners and GoK. Liaision with other USAID technical offices, U.S. Embassy departments, GoK and other non-state stakeholders. Member of US Embassy Nairobi Democracy and Governance Team. d. Mission and Office Management USAID’s democracy, human rights and elections advisor to the Embassy and USAID Mission Director Leads electoral technical assistance to Kenya Develops standard operating procedures, staffing and resource plans Acting DGPS Deputy Director overseeing 10 staff and has decision making authority over a $5 to $10 million annual budget.
