The Francis Crick InstituteHuman Resources Director (interim)
Mar. 2012 - Jul. 2013London, United KingdomThe Francis Crick Institute is a partnership between Cancer Research UK, the Medical Research Council, the Wellcome Trust, UCL (University College London), Imperial College London and King's College London. It is a registered charity whose purpose is to conduct biomedical research into all aspects of human health and disease. As HRD I was responsible for the development of the People Plan for the transfer to the Crick and the development of the transition organisation. In my role I led the development of the HR strategy and key HR policies for the Crick. Representing the Crick in resolving transitional and day to day HR issues, and ensuring that the Crick began operations with good-practice policies and procedures in place, within the approved staffing budgets, with well-motivated staff, and able to attract and retain staff of the highest caliber. Additionally, I led the project planning and implementation of the TUPE transfer of 1200 staff from two existing institutes and the associated organisation design, merger and cultural change activity. As a member of the Executive Management Team for the Crick I attended Board meetings and worked with colleagues to formulate the strategy and undertake day-to-day management of the Crick.
