Dec. 2007 - May. 2022Discovery Arts, was a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that brought music, art, dance and drama to children with cancer, serious blood disorders and life threatening illness. Discovery Arts served over 3,500 children and their families each year. Currently there are programs at Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA, Children's Hospital of Orange County, Miller Children's Hospital, Jonathan Jaques Children's Cancer Center at Millers, CHOC at Mission and Fountain Valley Hospital in Southern California and St. John's Children's Hospital Springfield, MO. All of Discovery Arts' programs and services were free of charge to the hospitals, patients and their families. Unfortunately Discovery Arts was unable to continue their services in the Hospitals they were contracted with during the 2020 to 2022 pandemic and was unable to recover. Children who are in the hospital still need services to aid in their treatment and recovery. It is our hope that the model of Discovery Arts can one day be revived.
