May. 2025Assist in daily winery operations from harvest through bottling. Monitor fermentation and maturation processes. Conduct lab analysis (e.g., Brix, pH, TA, SO₂) and interpret results. Support blending trials and decisions in collaboration with the winemaker. Supervise cellar staff and help manage workflow during harvest and bottling. Maintain accurate and detailed production records (e.g., lot tracking, additions). Operate and maintain winery equipment including pumps, filters, presses, etc. Collaborate with the winemaker to maintain wine style and quality. Perform sensory evaluations and participate in tastings. Help enforce safety and sanitation procedures in cellar operations. Manage compliance for wine production, sales, distribution, and labeling. File monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with the TTB (e.g., 5120.17 Report of Wine Premises Operations). Ensure all products meet COLA (Certificate of Label Approval) requirements. Maintain current state and federal licenses, permits, and bonds. Monitor and manage direct-to-consumer (DTC) shipping laws and reporting. Oversee label compliance for accuracy and legality (alcohol content, health warnings, varietal use, etc.). Work with sales, marketing, and winemaking teams to ensure compliance in advertising and packaging. Maintain detailed records for audits or inspections. Liaise with legal counsel and government agencies as necessary. Train relevant staff on compliance procedures and regulatory updates.
