This includes working closely with engineers, developers and technical services teams to gather information to document hardware and software features/functionality and create user, installation and maintenance guides as well as online help systems and other collateral materials - Led documentation initiative to redesign installation instructions for Quantum's move from a configuration-to-order delivery method to a purchase-to-order method. This initiative required extensive rewrites of existing installation procedures that involved numerous cross functional team members. - As part of company-wide initiative to move from PDF-based deliverables to online, topic-based Documentation Center, created a fully functional website that included user, installation, maintenance and planning documentation. This new Documentation Center was for the first tape automation product that was customer installable, thus reflecting a major change in company philosophy from a service installed and maintained product to a service support product. - Worked with my instructional designer to help design and implement an integrated training and documentation solution using the new Documentation Center. This had several benefits: + Reduced translation costs by half + Integrated the training deliverables directly into the online documentation, where their usage and views increased by thousands of hits + Embedded video snippets for key steps within procedures - Led an initiative to use the new Documentation Centers as online help directly accessible from the software. This helped drastically reduce documentation gaps in the online help by negating the need for the online help to be built into the software. This reduced service tickets by 50% in the first 6 months of implementation.
