200 East Supper ClubOffice/Bar/Marketing Manager
Mar. 2007 - Aug. 2008Greater Chicago Area (Business Closed)Privileged to work in the fast-paced, VIP laced mecca of Gold Coast in downtown Chicago. Tony Navarro held his business based on Nonna's cherished and beloved Italian recipes and cooking secrets close to his chest, but wore them on his heart and sleeve every day. I witnessed true culinary and entertainment greatness at its prime in this sanctuary of flashy F&B environments downtown. My daily interactions included serving or watching many of Chicago's top brass fall in love with old-school nostalgia for the bygone eras and the food (literally) melt in their mouths, like a Brickhouse Chicken. Then there was the music - from Sinatra and Crosby, to Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole - with a LIVE piano bar ensuite, then managing daily billing, scheduling, ordering, inventory, website maagement, marketing, promotions, and creative development, but only after engaging in all areas and proving my worth as a trusted Mickey. Managed both the booking and running of large functions. Personally developed and implemented new marketing strategies, cross-promotions, and advertising campaigns. Also working wth some of the most notorious Chicago chefs and personalities in the business, being able to learn and sharpen my skills from their wisdom, including the infamous Pat Brickhouse as my PR mentor, meant the world to me. Started as a cocktail waitress, worked my way to server, then bartender, then marketing and BOH assistant. To this day, I don't think I would be the person I am now without their love, guidance, and ball-busting.
