Indigo VolunteersInterim CEO
Aug. 2023 - Mar. 2025Appointed as Interim CEO during a crisis, when the charity had two months of funding left without further prospects.
- Created an emergency strategy focusing on innovation, clarity, and efficiency to shift Indigo’s internal ways of work and ensure operations continued and that further funding was secured.
- Ensured the set strategy was followed, that Indigo stays on track with its shorter- and longer-term goals, and that our programmes ran smoothly and effectively. Represented the charity, provided clear leadership, and set a productive, nurturing, and mutually respectful working culture. Coordinated all HR activities, such as recruitment cycles, onboardings, team development activities, and coaching for a team of 30, ensuring resourcing gaps and needs were met. Maintained productive relationships with the Board of Advisors and charity partners. Coordinated Indigo’s training (organised 22 humanitarian training opportunities) and wellbeing (15% increase in wellbeing sessions delivered) programs. Assisted with content creation (on Canva) and communications activities (via Wix). Coordinated the Trusts & Grants team and ran both online and offline fundraising campaigns, raising £97.5k.
Indigo VolunteersHead of Programs and Partnerships
Sep. 2021 - Aug. 2023Athens, Attiki, GreeceDeveloped and maintained excellent relationships with charity partners along the European migration route, managed Indigo’s volunteer recruitment team, and developed and coordinated the wellbeing support and organisational development programmes.
- Managed Indigo’s volunteer coordinators handling day-to-day recruitment for our partner network.
- Worked closely with marketing and operations teams to create aligned, sustainable and effective practices and grow Indigo’s reach.
- Nurtured and grew partnerships with charities across Europe, increasing their engagement with Indigo’s services.
- Developed wellbeing support offerings (120% increase in wellbeing sessions delivered) and organised 22 humanitarian training opportunities. Developed M&E practices to guide improvements of the volunteer and charity customer journeys. Conducted regular needs assessments. Supported with fundraising, HR, recruitment, risk assessments, policy development, and team building as part of the Indigo Leadership Team. Updated the Indigo website on Wix and assisted with content creation and marketing communications via Wix and Canva.
