MYERStudio Manager
Jun. 2012 - Nov. 2013Melbourne, AustraliaThe role required planning and management of multiple engagements ranging from the implementation of two new photographic studios and maximising output for three in-house photographic studios to the management of an in-house graphic design team. These initiatives led to immeasurable results and benefits to the business including outsource cost savings and increased accuracy and turn-around times. The role involved managing 15 creatives across two departments in a fast paced environment. I guided teams to develop best practices for ensuring a high standard of quality while maintaining enjoyment in the workplace even during peak times that have proven overwhelming in the past. Leading in a way that is authentic, objective, empathic and inspiring and adapting my leadership style to match people’s unique needs in different situations, necessary when dealing with not only a large team but also a diverse in-house client base. I developed lightweight, repeatable processes, workflows and content templates that keep the team nimble and successful in a culture that values fast moving and iterating quickly in both the photographic and design environments. This has resulted in a measured increase in accuracy and output capacity, mirrored with substantial cost savings for the business.
