Dirk created The Mission Leadership Dashboard; a technology product that tracks and monitors team progress towards strategic outcomes. The software proved an essential tool to allow for ensuring the alignment of individual missions towards company goals and mission statement. 2005: At time of joining, the Dashboard Version 1.0 was a product built in Excel. Dirk transformed this into a fully functional web-based product (the Dashboard Version 2.0) that earned significant revenue for McKinney Rogers. 2007: Recruited a team of developers and support staff to maintain the product and support the continual improvement. In order to grow as a business Dirk drove the recruitment initiative to hire the first support staff and developers, turning the product into a fully-fledged income stream for the business. They also identified initiatives such as our first Blackberry application and an offline Windows Application that could operate in remote areas with internet connectivity problems. 2008 – 2013: Rebuilt the software to improve scalability significantly using Microsoft’s onsite Scalability Testing Laboratory, leading to the creation of Dashboard 5.0 with a fresh rejuvenation and the ability to function on multiple platforms.

In his role, Dirk built a graphical IDE in C# that users could easily build data transform plans. Later on I built a graphical IDE to administer the Scheduler that ran the data transform plans. The work was heavily focussed on XML and XSLT.

I was mentored by the founder who I am still in touch with to this day. In my role I acted as an Analyst/Programmer for Archi, a web-based knowledge management and project management tool. Developed using Smalltalk, XML and Javascript. I also was contracted out as a consultant to various companies as a Systems Analyst. One example was for a large supermarket chain in South Africa, called Shoprite-Checkers. The work included running user requirements gathering sessions, supervising a junior developer working in ASP, and analysing/modelling business processes and entities. I also did some work with UML and Inspired’s own process methodology. In this role I developed a visual modelling tool in Visio and co-authored a research paper: “A Critique on the UML and Inspired Methods”, published in the EMMSAD2002 Journal, Toronto
