Jul. 2018 - Nov. 2018London, United Kingdom• Advising managers on appropriate recruitment and selection methods to facilitate the appointment of high calibre staff. To liaise with the College advertising agency and advise on the best media for recruitment advertisements, as required
• Placing adverts using the internal and external media, assisting in the preparation of job descriptions, person specifications and adverts as required, to ensure good quality text
• Ensuring that financial authority is in place for adverts and posts and compliance with legislative requirements and best practice
• Ensuring the prompt, efficient and accurate processing of contracts of employment, contract extensions, contractual changes and probations, ensuring that the requisite funding is in place
• Dealing with any employment related correspondence and visa/work permit issues • Monitoring the use of fixed-term contracts, and provide appropriate advice on their renewal or termination
• Recording and monitor sickness absence and sick pay entitlements, making initial contact with line managers in line with the College’s Sickness Absence Policy
• Managing the leaving process to ensure all necessary paperwork and records are updated
• Processing maternity/paternity/shared parental leave applications, advising members of staff of their entitlement in accordance with the College policies and legislation including parental leave and flexible working. To deal with queries in respect of this; referring to the HR Adviser for support as appropriate
• Ensuring that relevant payroll information is notified to the payroll office and that payroll deadlines are met
• Providing initial information on issues on College policies and procedures for dealing with absence, grievance, capability and misconduct issues, referring to an HR Adviser for support as appropriate
